The Diploma should be completed within a maximum of four years from the date of registration.
Kannada
a. A candidate at the time of admission to the Diploma in Christian Studies should have completed 18 years of age and have passed 10+2 with eligibility to enter a degree course of a University.
OR
b. He/ She should appear for “MATURE CANDIDATE ADMISSION FOR DIP.C.S. COURSE” Entrance ExaminationConducted by the SENATE OF SERAMPORE COLLEGE.
Studied up to Class X (or having failed in class X) and
At least 6 years in any form of service working experience (acceptable to the Senate) and
20 years of age.
OR
Passed class VIII (Eight) and
Obtained some professional Diploma or Certificate and
At least 6 years of working experience in any form of service and
20 years of age.
Will be allowed to undertake the Dip.C.S. programme provided he/she passes the Entrance Examination.*
For each paper the score should not be less than 40 marks.
Students should get a minimum 40% to qualify for Dip.C.S. study
A student shall be given two changes to clear all the papers, only arrear papers in the second sitting.

* Each year the qualifying exams are conducted in the month of October - November and the last date for receiving the application is June 30th.

The Diploma in Christian Studies shall consist of 10 courses in all, 6 required and 4 optional. A candidate shall be expected to appear for all the papers in the first two years.

N.B. :
Good News Bible (TEV) or New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) are recommended for the study of the Biblical subjects.
Candidates interested in proceeding to either B.C.S. or B.D. studies, on completion of Dip.C.S. will be expected to take the following 8 papers as required subjects for study:

take a two optional papers (vii and viii) mentioned above
take the two papers i.e., BOS 11 and BOS 12 from the Senate of Serampore College seperately in Qualifying English
secure an over-all B-(55%) Grade in the examinations
The College will provide detailed syllabus together with some basic study material for each course. Lending library facility will be made available.
The College conducts 3 days’ Contact Seminars for all candidates with prior notification twice a year. Candidates are expected to attend the Contact Seminars compulsorily.
The cost of travel, food and accommodation in connection with the seminars will have to be borne by the candidates.
Candidates will be expected to submit written assignments from time to time. Examinations will be held in October/November in 5 papers in the first year and the rest in the second. After successful completion of 10 subjects, Certificate in Theology (C.Th.) will be awarded by the Karnataka Theological College.
