The Abhayam Counselling Centre, a joint venture of KTC Counselling Centre, Mangalore, and CSI Christ Church, Kanhangad, was inaugurated on 27th October 2025 at the CSI Christ Church compound, Kanhangad. The centre was established to promote mental health, emotional well-being, and holistic pastoral care in the community. The ceremony began with an opening song by the Church Choir, followed by a welcome and prayer by Rev. Sajithdas Koroth. Rev. Binu C. John introduced the guests, and Rev. Dr. H. M. Watson, Principal of Karnataka Theological College, presented an overview of the centre’s vision and mission.
The inaugural address and dedication were delivered by Rt. Rev. Hemachandra Kumar, Bishop of the CSI Karnataka Southern Diocese, highlighted the Church’s role in healing and compassionate service. Felicitations were offered by Mrs. Alice Daniel and Rev. Dr Christopher George, appreciating the collaborative effort behind the initiative.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Rev. Subeesh Mathew, a closing prayer by Rev. Frederic Anilkumar, and the benediction by the Bishop.
Abhayam Counselling Centre aims to provide professional counselling services to individuals, couples, and families. Through its collaboration between the KTC Counselling Centre, Mangalore, and CSI Christ Church, Kanhangad, it seeks to integrate psychological insight with Christian compassion, offering hope and healing to those in need.
